EveryTab is a local-first Chrome extension for managing browser tabs. The extension handles information about tabs on your device so its features can work. The EveryTab developer does not collect, receive, sell, or share that information.
EveryTab uses tab addresses, titles, favicons, last-used timing, window placement, and pinned or grouped state to show, save, search, organize, suspend, snooze, deduplicate, close, and restore tabs.
It also stores information you add to EveryTab, including Labels, Sessions, Groups, Starred pages, settings, optional New Tab phrases, and the local Activity journal. Settings include your interface language (System, English, or Français), which only changes how EveryTab looks.
To show site icons, EveryTab normally uses the icon Chrome has already stored on your device for each page, or an icon image already saved with the tab. EveryTab never loads icons from websites.
Some notifications show tab information on your screen. A Snooze notification shows the page title or address, and a Focus notification about timed access shows the site’s domain. Chrome shows these notifications on this device, including in your system’s notification center. Other EveryTab notifications do not show page titles or addresses.
If you grant the optional Browser History permission, EveryTab uses matching history entries locally for Search and suggestions. If you grant the optional Chrome tab-group permission, EveryTab uses group names, colors, and collapsed state locally when saving and restoring Sessions. You can revoke either permission in EveryTab Settings.
EveryTab does not read page bodies, form text, passwords, cookies, personal messages, or other page content. It has no host permissions or content scripts.
EveryTab’s working library and recovery data are stored in Chrome’s local IndexedDB on your device. Smaller settings and browser-coordination records use Chrome’s local extension storage.
You may optionally connect a Vault folder that you choose. The Vault contains
compact incremental data, recovery points, favicons, and readable views of your
library. The Vault folder is not encrypted. Its library.json file contains
your full saved library in plain text, including page addresses, titles,
Labels, settings, and site icons. Its index.md file summarizes your library
and lists the pages in your named Sessions and Starred pages by title and
address. Protect that folder as you would any personal
file. EveryTab can read and write only the folder you select. If you use
Dropbox, Google Drive, iCloud, Syncthing, or another service to sync that folder,
that service handles the folder under its own terms and privacy policy. The
EveryTab developer never receives the folder or its contents.
EveryTab searches your local tab library first. Only when you choose Search web does the extension ask Chrome to search through your configured search provider. EveryTab does not send the query to an EveryTab server, receive it after the handoff, or add it to your EveryTab library. Your search provider handles the query under its own privacy policy.
EveryTab has no account system, developer-operated server, analytics, advertising, or telemetry. The extension itself makes no network requests. The EveryTab developer cannot see your tab library or the contents of your Vault.
EveryTab does not sell or transfer user information to third parties. It does not use tab information for advertising, profiling, credit decisions, or any purpose unrelated to the tab-management features you choose.
Saved items remain in your local library until you delete them or a retention setting you chose moves or removes them. Recovery data and automatic Snapshots use the limits selected in Settings. You can export your saved data from EveryTab, delete individual items in the app, remove the extension’s local data by uninstalling it through Chrome, and delete an optional Vault folder using your file manager.
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
If EveryTab’s data practices change, the updated behavior will be disclosed before it starts and this policy will be updated with a new date.
